Udaipur: Fifteen players from Rajasthan have been selected for the Indian women’s and men’s lacrosse teams that will represent the country at the South Eastern Asian Lacrosse Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 28 to 30, 2026. The Indian contingent will compete in both women’s and men’s categories at the international event.

From Udaipur’s tribal region, nine players have been selected for the Indian women’s team — Sunita Meena, Dali Gameti, Yashishtha Batra, Yashoda Gameti, Jula Kumari Gurjar, Meera Dauja, Vishakha Meghwal, Roshni Bose and Jhanvi Rathore.

The men’s team includes Mohanlal Gameti, Khumaram Gameti, Dayashankar Gameti, Narayan Lal Gameti and Nishant Nagda from the Udaipur region, along with Shahid Khan from Nagaur.

The players have earned their place through consistent hard work, discipline and dedication despite limited resources and numerous challenges. Their selection to represent India at an international platform has brought a sense of pride and excitement across the Udaipur division and the tribal belt.

Under the guidance of coach Neeraj Batra, the selected players first travelled to Kolkata, from where they will fly to Kuala Lumpur. Before their departure, sports enthusiasts, public representatives and members of the sporting community extended their best wishes and encouraged the players to deliver their best performance for the country.

The players’ continued progress has also been supported by the Tribal Area Development Department Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Limited Chairman Dr. P. Ramesh, Kirti Rathore, B.S. Patrabat, Bhavana Sharma and officials of the department and regional tribal development authorities. They congratulated the players and expressed confidence that their determination, skills and performance would bring honour to Rajasthan and India.

Rajasthan Lacrosse Association President Ashok Parnami, CEO Shehzad Khan and other office-bearers, along with public representatives and sports enthusiasts, also extended their best wishes to all the selected players and wished them success in the international tournament.
