Udaipur: The district-level Khelo India Asmita Women’s Soft Tennis League concluded at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon after a series of exciting and closely contested matches. The event was organised jointly by the Rajasthan Soft Tennis Association and the Udaipur District Soft Tennis Association under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ initiatives aimed at promoting greater participation of women in sports.
The league was conducted under the guidance of coordinator Bheru Singh Rathore. Around 150 players from various schools, colleges and sports academies participated in the competition.
District Association Secretary Bhavana Batra said the opening ceremony was attended by senior Deputy District Education Officer (Physical Education) Laxman Das Vaishnav, Rajasthan Soft Tennis Association representative Indraprakash Tikkiwal and Indian Lacrosse team captain Sunita Meena as chief guests.
In the Under-15 category, Tahreem Amar secured first place, followed by Anushka Solanki in second, while Mannat Swami and Raksha Vaishnav finished third.
In the Under-18 category, Drishti Shrimali won first place, Harshika Joshi finished second, and Pravi Joshi and Akshadha Rathore secured third position.
In the Senior category, Khanak Dhabai emerged winner, Sonu Meena secured second place, while Preeti Meena and Charlie Sen finished third.
The winners were awarded medals by former international tennis player Asha Baghel, Gogunda Bar Association General Secretary Chetan Das Vaishnav, Rajasthan Soft Tennis Association’s Prem Saini, District Physical Education Teachers Association President Govardhan Singh Jhala, Babulal Rawat, Chhagan Baroth, coach Khemraj Gameti, former national soft tennis player Nirma Dangi, Raksha Paliwal and Shanta Gameti.
The winners and selected players will undergo further training and preparation for the upcoming state-level competition.
