Udaipur: The fortnight-long celebration marking the 388th birth anniversary of Veerwar Rashtranayak Durgadas concluded with a grand ceremonyat Dawana House, Eklingpura. Organised by Shri Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh and its associates, the event was attended by community members, religious and educational representatives, and youth.

The programme began with floral tributes to Veer Durgadas. Mahipal Singh Rathore of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh highlighted his courage, sacrifice and dedication, stating that his ideals remain relevant today. He suggested naming a road in Udaipur after Durgadas and installing his statue as a permanent tribute.

Dr. Kamal Singh Bemla spoke about Durgadas’ life, achievements and historic contributions, while Moti Singh Rathore encouraged participants to work in an organised and dedicated manner. Saint Shri Laxman Puri Goswami delivered an inspiring spiritual address. The programme was conducted by Bhanwar Singh Bemla.

The committee also passed a proposal to rename the Lok Vidyalaya in Bemla village after Veerwar Durgadas.

The celebrations, which began on August 13, included programmes at several locations across the Udaipur division, including Nathdwara, Salumbar, Pratapgarh and Udaipur.

Organisers said similar programmes would continue to promote Durgadas’ values of courage, service and dedication among the younger generation.
