Udaipur. On the occasion of International Day of Clean Air, CPL Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and supported by the Rhada Foundation, organized a unique Havan Yajna, Shiv Puja, and Aarti at the Adiyogi Statue premises in Kaladwas. The event aimed at protecting the environment while preserving cultural traditions, with a special focus on promoting Gokashta wood (cow-dung based logs) as a sustainable alternative to conventional firewood.


The yajna was conducted strictly with Gokashta, symbolizing how traditional practices can align with modern goals of environmental conservation and reducing deforestation. Chief Guest Sharad Saxena, Regional Officer of the Pollution Control Board, emphasized that this year’s theme “Racing for Air” inspired the initiative to spread awareness about air purification, sustainability, and eco-friendly living. He highlighted that cow-dung wood is eco-friendly, durable, and economical, encouraging people to reduce plastic use and adopt reusable products.

Archana Singh Charan, Founder of Rhada Foundation, stressed that environmental protection must be a way of life, not a one-day effort. She underlined that ancient traditions hold modern solutions, ensuring a clean and safe environment for future generations. Other speakers, including Samta Bothra and Dr. Jyoti Tomar, shared insights on the spiritual, physical, and environmental benefits of havan.

Representatives from CPL Pharmaceuticals (Kapil Dwivedi and Pankaj Thakur) and the Pollution Control Board (Kunj Bihari, Yashpal, and team) also attended, calling for collective action to maintain ecological balance.

Following the ceremony, Dr. Jyoti Tomar, Associate Professor of Microbiology at PIMS Udaipur, conducted a workshop highlighting the antimicrobial benefits of havan rituals, attended by around 100 participants. Scientific findings were shared on the health and environmental impact of traditional fire rituals.
