Udaipur — “The government has simplified the tax system. The Income Tax Department aims to promote voluntary tax compliance among citizens. The revenue collected through income tax plays a crucial role in nation-building activities. Hence, taxpayers are the real contributors to the nation’s progress.”
These remarks were made by Income Tax Inspector Rajiv Kumar during an interactive seminar held at the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCI).

In compliance with the directives of the Directorate of Income Tax (Intelligence & Criminal Investigation), a Taxpayer Awareness Seminar was organized at the UCCI premises at 4 PM on Monday, 8 December 2025.

During the seminar, participants received detailed guidance on key compliance topics such as the E-Verification Scheme 2021, Updated ITR, PAN verification, and common errors in deduction claims.

Distinguished Guests and Key Discussions

The seminar was attended by Assistant Director L. N. Meena as the Chief Guest, and Income Tax Officer Anil Bhambani as the Special Guest. Income Tax Inspectors Rajiv Kumar, Rohit Bhati, and CA Nikhil Mehta were also present.

Welcoming all officials and participants, UCCI President Manish Galundia highlighted that member entrepreneurs understand the significance of tax contributions, which help the government implement developmental plans and strengthen national defence. He emphasized that UCCI members are committed to supporting India’s vision of becoming a 5-trillion-dollar economy by fulfilling their tax responsibilities with sincerity.
Galundia also suggested that the department should ensure taxpayers are not issued demand notices years after completing financial transactions.

Hon. Secretary Ashish Chhabda, who outlined the seminar structure, stated that the objective was to provide a platform for entrepreneurs and businessmen of the Udaipur division to resolve their tax-related queries through open dialogue with Income Tax officials.

Focus on Transparency and Reduced Litigation

In his address, Inspector Rajiv Kumar said the government aims to reduce litigation and encourage honest tax payment. He reiterated that simplifying the taxation system brings transparency to departmental procedures. He also explained the E-Verification Scheme and the department’s “NAJ” campaign in detail.

Special Guest Anil Bhambani added that taxpayer cooperation is vital for the department to achieve government-set revenue targets.

Technical Session

CA Nikhil Mehta delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation covering the E-Verification Scheme 2021, common mistakes in deduction claims in ITR filings, PAN verification, updated returns, and rules regarding cash transactions. He emphasized that understanding these regulations helps taxpayers avoid errors while filing returns.

During the Q&A session, participants’ queries were addressed by department officials, and several important suggestions were shared by entrepreneurs.

The session saw active participation from over 45 attendees.

Concluding the programme, Assistant Commissioner L. N. Meena expressed gratitude to all participants and announced that the department plans to organize more awareness programmes at UCCI in the future to provide updates on new tax laws and compliance requirements.
