The three-day Dr. S. M. Juniwal Ranka International Moot Court Competition, organised by Apex University, Jaipur, concluded on Monday with an inspiring message on perseverance and purpose. Rajasthan High Court Justice Anoop Kumar Dand, serving as the chief guest, emphasised that life without struggle lacks meaning and that having a clear goal is essential. He urged students to remain committed to helping the poor and needy, stating that responsibility towards society is every individual’s duty. Justice Anil Kumar Upman reminded participants that there is no shortcut to success, stressing determination, dedication, and sincere effort as the core principles of achievement.
Held at the Sitapura campus of Apex School of Law, the competition brought together 53 teams from leading law universities and colleges across the country. Renowned legal experts and jurists from India and abroad engaged with the participants, deliberating on the current landscape of the legal profession and discussing how students can build a strong future within the field.
Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow secured the first position, while Christ University, Bengaluru finished as runner-up. Mahindra University received the Best Researcher Award, Anju Bala was named Best Speaker, and University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University won Best Memorial. Former District and Sessions Judge Dr. Kamal Datta; former Rajasthan High Court judges Justice Pankaj Bhandari and Justice Prashant Agrawal; former District and Sessions Judge Chandrakanta Gupta; Prof. (Dr.) P. P. Mitra; and Prof. (Dr.) Aradhana Parmar formed the judging panel for the final round. They examined arguments on constitutional provisions including Articles 19 and 19(2), Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and other relevant legal questions before announcing the final results.
Apex University Chairperson Dr. Ravi Juniwal highlighted the importance of the learning experience gained during the three days, expressing confidence that participants would use their legal education for the nation’s progress. Vice Chancellor Prof. Somdev Satanshu and Registrar Dr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma welcomed the guests and presented mementoes. Dr. Monika Mishra, HoD of Apex School of Law, congratulated the teams and expressed gratitude to all attendees. The event concluded with a collective rendition of the national anthem.
