Udaipur, The Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee has strongly demanded an impartial judicial investigation into the death of a jeweller while in police custody under the Rishabhdev Police Station, falling within the Kherwara Assembly constituency.

In a joint statement, Kherwara MLA Dr. Daya Ram Parmar, Udaipur Rural District Congress President Kachru Lal Chaudhary, and Rishabhdev Block Congress President Roop Lal Meena have urged the Superintendent of Police to initiate a fair and transparent inquiry into the incident. The leaders also called for the immediate suspension of the entire police station staff until the investigation is completed to ensure neutrality and public trust.

According to the statement, the deceased jeweller, Sureshmal, was reportedly taken by Govardhan Police Station officers for questioning. However, he was later transferred to Rishabhdev Police Station without any prior intimation to his family, as per the claims made by his son. The lack of communication and sudden change in custody has raised suspicions regarding the circumstances of his death.

The Congress leaders stated that such actions by Rishabhdev Police raise serious concerns and demanded that the truth be uncovered through a fair judicial process to uphold public confidence in the law enforcement system.
