In collaboration with Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika) and the Ruma Devi Foundation, a special program titled ‘Women Empowerment Dialogue with Ruma Devi’ was organized in Udaipur district on Saturday.

Purpose of the Dialogue

The program was chaired by internationally acclaimed social worker and Rajeevika Brand Ambassador Dr. Ruma Devi. The objective was to encourage women towards entrepreneurship, deliberate on challenges they face, and connect them with new opportunities leading to self-reliance.

Message of Ruma Devi

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ruma Devi said that if women respect and support each other, the direction of society can be transformed. She urged women to take a pledge to uplift one another and envisioned the emergence of many “Ruma Devis” in the community. More than a thousand women associated with Self-Help Groups across the district participated in the interactive dialogue.

Impact of Rajeevika

District Manager Kuldeep Singh Sisodia shared insights about the project, highlighting that women’s groups are now managing their own livelihood activities. This independence, he noted, has significantly contributed to their upliftment in social, economic, familial, health, and educational spheres.

Inspiring Stories and Exhibitions

Foundation spokesperson Kavita Kumari narrated several inspiring success stories. Among them was Nakari, who started with just ₹20 and is today working as a Cluster Manager under Rajeevika with a monthly income exceeding ₹15,000. During the event, an exhibition of products created by women’s groups was also organized, alongside an open dialogue session.

Supportive Voices

Prem Poonwar and Harsh Thakur from Rajeevika also appreciated the women’s efforts, stating that such dialogue programs provide them with a new direction and recognition.

Women as Agents of Change

The occasion saw active participation of women who openly discussed issues related to employment, entrepreneurship, and social awareness. Their contributions reaffirmed the fact that women are no longer confined to homes and families but have become a strong link in driving economic and social transformation.
