Udaipur: Statues of freedom fighter couple Late Parasram Trivedi and Late Shanta Trivedi are set to be unveiled in Udaipur on October 14.


Chandrakanta Trivedi, President of Rajasthan Mahila Parishad, informed during a press conference that the unveiling ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 14, at 11 a.m. at the Rajasthan Mahila Parishad premises near Lavkush Indoor Stadium, Chetak Circle, Udaipur.


Former State Minister and Parishad Director Jagdish Raj Shrimali stated that Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria will be the Chief Guest, while socialist thinker and former MLA Mohan Prakash will preside over the event. Nivriti Kumari Mewar will attend as the Guest of Honour, along with former Udaipur MP Raghuveer Singh Meena, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, and Prof. S. S. Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed University).
Mahant Swami Hiteshwaranand Saraswati of Chavand Ashram will offer his blessings during the ceremony.

Parishad Secretary Divya Johri mentioned that preparations for the event have already begun. She said that the Parishad’s long-cherished vision of installing the statues is now becoming a reality. Treasurer Akshita Trivedi added that the statues will serve as a reminder of the couple’s contributions and inspire students and citizens alike.

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is noteworthy that Late Parasram Trivedi served as the General Secretary of the Mewar Prajamandal and was injured during the Dehligate firing incident, while Late Shanta Trivedi sustained injuries during a British police lathi-charge at Rang Niwas. During her treatment at Bombay Hospital, doctors informed her that she could never become a mother. She then resolved to dedicate her life to nurturing and educating children by adopting them.

Together, the couple decided to establish schools and hostels for girls and laid the foundation of the Rajasthan Mahila Parishad on September 11, 1947.
Late Parasram Trivedi passed away on January 24, 2002, and Late Shanta Trivedi on June 21, 2010.
