Udaipur: The 70th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Udaipur Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. was held on 11 October 2025 at the Rajasthan Agricultural College Auditorium, Udaipur. The meeting was chaired by the bank’s Administrator and District Collector, Mr. Namit Mehta.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Mehta stated that 2025 is being observed as the International Year of Co-operatives, with the theme: “Cooperation Builds a Better World.” He urged everyone to work together to fulfill the objectives of co-operation and contribute to the development of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person in society).
The meeting was conducted by the bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Mehjabeen Bano, who reviewed the agenda items, including:

Confirmation of the minutes of the previous AGM held on 14 September 2024

Approval of the balance sheet and profit & loss accounts for 2024-25
-
Follow-up on observations noted in the audit report
-
Approval of expenses for 2024-25 and the budget for 2025-26
-
Review of achievements against the 2024-25 development action plan
-
Determination of the maximum borrowing limit for 2025-26
The AGM was attended by over 300 chairpersons and members of Gram Seva Co-operative Societies from Udaipur, Salumber, Rajsamand, and Pratapgarh districts. Notable attendees included Shri Pramod Samar, Chairman of the District Tourism Co-operative Society; Shri Narayan Singh Bhati, former bank chairman; Shri Lokesh Javesi, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies; Shri A. P. Bunkar, Assistant Registrar; and other bank officials.
During the meeting, the attendees suggested measures to enhance the performance of the societies, including:

Prioritizing PDS licenses under the public distribution system

Resolving shortages in fertilizer supply

Filling vacant managerial positions
-
Providing loans to new members
-
Allocating land for offices and warehouses of newly formed societies
The Managing Director assured that all suggestions and concerns would be addressed at the bank level.
Mr. Mehta assured the chairpersons of member societies that all necessary steps would be taken at both the administrative and state government levels to enhance the profitability and financial strength of the societies. He emphasized that co-operative banking is the backbone of the rural economy and maintaining transparency is crucial.
He further stated that through technological innovations, societies can not only contribute to the upliftment of rural communities but also strengthen their financial capabilities.
