Udaipur: As per the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma, an intensive inspection of veterinary institutions was carried out across the district on Saturday with the objective of ensuring quality, transparency, and easy access to animal healthcare services for livestock owners. Administrative officers inspected 45 veterinary institutions across the district and prepared reports based on a prescribed checklist.

 

As part of this drive, District Collector Mr. Namit Mehta conducted a detailed inspection of the largest Multi-Purpose Veterinary Hospital of the division, located at Chetak Circle. During the inspection, the Collector reviewed the operational status, cleanliness arrangements, and outdoor treatment facilities of the institution in the presence of Joint Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr. Suresh Kumar Jain. He interacted with livestock owners visiting the hospital and obtained direct feedback regarding the availability of medicines, staff presence, and quality of treatment.

 

The District Collector also reviewed the attendance of veterinary staff, including Veterinary Officers (VO, SVO, DD), paravet staff (LSI, LEO, etc.), and livestock/animal attendants, and sought details of sanctioned strength versus actual presence. Discussions were also held regarding the adequacy of human resources at the hospital.

 

Mr. Mehta inspected the operation theatre, indoor wards, medical equipment, medicines, and availability of surgical materials. He reviewed the availability and storage of medicines under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Pashu Arogya Yojana. Feedback was also taken regarding beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana, including the scheme’s implementation, claim process, and any difficulties faced by livestock owners.

 

The District Collector also inspected the Government Animal Husbandry Training Institute campus. Deputy Director Dr. Surendra Chhangani provided detailed information about the diploma training programs, the number of currently enrolled students, and other institutional activities.

 

Joint Director Dr. Suresh Kumar Jain informed that on Saturday, officials inspected 15 block-level offices and first-grade veterinary hospitals (including the Multi-Purpose Veterinary Hospital), 10 veterinary hospitals, and 19 sub-centres in the district. Similarly, in Salumber district, inspections were conducted at 7 block-level veterinary hospitals, 4 veterinary hospitals, and 10 sub-centres.

 

### Proposals Sought for Essential Resources

 

The District Collector reviewed the availability of facilities such as ultrasonography, X-ray, and other services for animals within the hospital premises. He directed the Joint Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr. Suresh Jain, to prepare and submit proposals for required equipment and other essential resources for the hospital and veterinary institutions across the district at the earliest.

 

Mr. Mehta emphasized that animal health is as important as human health and stated that the State Government is fully sensitive and committed in this regard. He assured that necessary resources would be made available through DMFT (District Mineral Foundation Trust) to further strengthen veterinary healthcare services.
