Udaipur: Under the joint aegis of Life Progressive Society, Udaipur and Sahar Charitable Foundation, forms for the distribution of food supplies to the needy during the holy month of Ramadan will be filled on February 4 at the main office located near Oswal Bhawan Anjuman, Kotiyon Ki Guwadi. The forms will be accepted from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, as per the prescribed rules.
Society Secretary Fatima Agwani informed that needy applicants above 60 years of age must bring two photographs, an Aadhaar card, and a valid certificate while filling out the form. There is no age limit for differently-abled (divyang) applicants. Aadhaar cards and certificates submitted for verification will be returned after checking.
Society President Dr. Khalil Agwani stated that all activities of the society will be conducted from the main office and branch offices. He also informed that a collective mass marriage conference for all communities and religions will be organized in the month of May.
Dr. Agwani further said that in April, a special camp will be organized on the topic of integrating people with drug addiction and criminal tendencies into the mainstream of society. He clarified that currently, no staff is employed by the society and all activities are being carried out voluntarily by society members. An appeal was also made to contribute Zakat, Fitra, and Imdad during Ramadan for the welfare of the needy, education, and employment.
Secretary Fatima Agwani added that the society will also distribute food supplies in villages outside the city. As per requirements, sewing machines and computers will be provided to schools to support education and employment initiatives.
She also mentioned that the evaluation reports of students whose fees were previously paid by the society have been received and the results are very encouraging.
