Udaipur: When a government responds with sensitivity, despair and sorrow among ordinary citizens do not last long. When the government becomes a source of support, the tears of the poor and marginalized turn into smiles. Initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Gram Utthan Camps organized in Udaipur district have emerged as a new chapter of welfare and good governance, carrying messages of support, empowerment, and dignity for senior citizens, youth, poor farmers, livestock rearers, and vulnerable sections of society.
Many deeply touching human stories are emerging from these camps. One such emotional moment unfolded on Sunday during the Gram Utthan Camp held in Gogunda, bringing solace to a grieving family.
Pushkar Singh, a 22-year-old resident of Bildiaya village, used to assist his father in farming. While working in the fields one day—repairing fencing and clearing the land—his condition suddenly deteriorated after being bitten by a poisonous creature, suspected to be a snake. His family rushed him to Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, Udaipur, but despite all efforts, Pushkar Singh passed away.
The youngest and most hardworking member of the family was gone, leaving behind his elderly parents, an elder brother, and a younger sister. His father, Sohan Singh, shared that he had planned to marry both his sons together. Discussions had already begun at a few places, and the weddings were expected after Diwali. Those dreams, however, were shattered forever.
In this hour of grief, the Rajasthan Government’s Chief Minister Krishak Saathi Yojana emerged as a vital support system. During the Gram Utthan Camp, under the direction of Sub-Divisional Officer, Gogunda, Shubham Bhaisare, the Agricultural Marketing Department handed over a cheque of ₹2 lakh as financial assistance to the deceased’s father, Sohan Singh.
As the grieving father accepted the cheque with trembling hands, his eyes reflected the pain of losing his son, but also the reassurance that the government was standing beside him in this difficult time. This was not merely a cheque—it was a ray of hope for the family. Sohan Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for the timely support.
Present on the occasion were social worker Nikhil Kothari, former Deputy Pradhan Laxman Singh Jhala, Tehsildar Praveen Kumar Saini, Additional Development Officer Devendra Kumar, Hitesh Kumar from the Agricultural Market Committee, and Tushar Kumar from the Agriculture Department. All extended their condolences and offered emotional support to the bereaved family.
