Udaipur: The “Srinivasa Ramanujan STEM Lab – Center of Excellence” established at Vigyan Samiti Udaipur in Ashok Nagar was inaugurated by the Honorable Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria. This initiative marks an important step toward promoting innovation and experimental learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among students.

On this occasion, the Governor interacted with students from various government schools. Students from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential School Lai Ka Guda, Mahatma Gandhi Government School Dhanmandi, and Mahatma Gandhi Government School Pahada presented innovative projects ranging from Scratch programming to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which were highly appreciated by the Governor.

Media in-charge Vimal Sharma stated that the distinguished guests emphasized the importance of STEM education. They highlighted that the center will provide students with opportunities to experiment with robotics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, helping them develop problem-solving abilities, creativity, and technical skills.

The event was attended by several prominent personalities including former Member of Parliament Arjun Lal Meena, A. K. Sancheti, Akhilesh Joshi, Kundan Lal Kothari, Mahip Bhatnagar, Munish Goyal, R. K. Garg, Rajendra Kumar Chatur, Kailash Chandra Rawal, and Ashwani Tiwari from the School Enterprise Association, along with other distinguished citizens.

Kundan Lal Kothari informed that the state-of-the-art laboratory was constructed using funds from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) provided by Arjun Lal Meena, while the financial arrangements for the laboratory equipment were generously supported by Avanti Kumar Sancheti and his spouse.

The lab has been fully equipped to allow students to work independently and gain hands-on experience in circuitry, robotics, computing and coding, 3D designing and printing, wood crafting, welding, PCB soldering, and laser engraving, along with other essential technical facilities.

President Mahip Bhatnagar emphasized the need to make STEM education democratic and accessible across the state while fostering a strong culture of innovation. The program concluded with student innovation demonstrations and discussions on expanding STEM education.
