Udaipur: The 60 Basant Senior Citizens Council successfully organized a cheerful fellowship gathering along with a Bhajan and Song Singing Competition on Monday. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Council’s President, Secretary, and distinguished guests.

The atmosphere was filled with devotion as Krishnakant Sharma and Rajesh Page recited sacred Vedic chants during the inauguration. Thereafter, Council President Mahendra Mehta delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted all the guests and members present.

Council Secretary M.P. Jain informed that the highlight of the program was the Bhajan and Song Singing Competition, in which 14 participants showcased their musical talent and melodious voices.

In the women’s category, Mrs. Preeti Shah secured the first position, while Mrs. Sunita Sharma was awarded second place. In the men’s category, Ganpat Chitara won first place and L. Pushkarna secured second position.

Mrs. Preeti Shah captivated the audience with the song “Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, Pyar Ke Kabil Mujhe…”, while Mrs. Sunita Sharma presented “Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega, Mera Saaya Saath Hoga…”. Among the male participants, Ganpat Chitara performed “Bane Chahe Dushman Zamana Hamara…”, while L. Pushkarna entertained the gathering with “Bhole O Bhole…”.

Media Coordinator Professor Vimal Sharma stated that eight new members who recently joined the Council were warmly welcomed with floral garlands during the event. Members celebrating their birthdays and wedding anniversaries in the months of May and June were also specially honored.

The program concluded on a joyful note with the celebration of the birthday of senior member Mrs. Snehlata Anchalia and the wedding anniversary of Mr. Surendra Dak. The occasion was marked by the cutting of a special traditional Mawa cake and the lighting of ceremonial lamps. Members expressed their happiness through applause, songs, and heartfelt wishes, making the evening memorable and festive for everyone present.
