Udaipur, The 15th executive meeting of the Maharana Pratap Khelgaon Society was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector and ex-officio President Namit Mehta in the Collectorate Auditorium. Several important decisions were taken to expand sports facilities within the Khelgaon campus.

Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) Commissioner and ex-officio Vice President Rahul Jain discussed the available facilities, ongoing projects, and future plans in detail. It was decided to install floodlights at the cricket stadium, which is located amidst natural surroundings, enabling night matches. The concerned AEN has been instructed to develop the floodlight system through solar power installation.

The Commissioner also directed that tenders for developing pickleball, box cricket, and football grounds be floated and the works completed at the earliest. These new facilities are to be ready by November 2025. Additionally, the marriage garden located outside the campus will be developed and operated at the UDA level, with the income generated used for the development of sports and maintenance of the garden.

The meeting also reviewed the recently constructed ₹7 crore athletics track and hockey ground. It was decided to start work on toilet blocks and changing rooms near these facilities, with completion targeted by November. RSRDC will serve as the executing agency.

Plans were also discussed for the construction of 25-meter and 50-meter shooting ranges and a new archery range. The locations have already been identified, and detailed project reports (DPRs) will be prepared by the Udaipur Shooting and Archery Associations. UDA will execute the works, ensuring that local shooters no longer need to travel to other districts for training. These ranges will be developed to international standards.

Further, the current swimming pool will be converted into an all-weather facility with a roof, with work starting in October and completion scheduled before the next academic session.

District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, Treasurer Parth Sharma, UDA Chief Accounts Officer Khushboo, Chartered Accountant D.S. Babel, UDA XEN Neeraj Mathur, boxing coach Narpat Singh Chundawat, RSRDC Project Director Lalchand Verma, UDA AEN Rajeev Gupta, municipal officers, and society consultants were present at the meeting.
