Rajsamand: A pickup vehicle carrying pilgrims to Ramdevra overturned on a slope in Rajsamand district, leaving one person dead and eight others injured.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Ganpatlal, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. The injured passengers were shifted to hospital for treatment.

According to preliminary information, around 45 members of the same family, including women, men and children, were travelling in the pickup as part of their pilgrimage to Ramdevra. The vehicle reportedly lost control while negotiating an uphill stretch and overturned.

Police and locals launch rescue operation

Soon after receiving information about the accident, Kelwara police reached the spot. With the help of local residents, police personnel rescued the injured and shifted them by ambulance to the Kelwara Community Health Centre.

Doctors provided first aid to the injured at the health centre. Considering their condition, all eight injured passengers were subsequently referred to Rajsamand for advanced treatment.

Police have begun gathering details about the accident and are investigating the circumstances that led to the vehicle losing control.
