Udaipur: St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, marked Teachers’ Day with a celebration of its rich educational legacy, bringing together teachers, students and distinguished alumni who have carried the institution’s values into diverse fields. The occasion highlighted the school’s longstanding emphasis on academics, sports, character and holistic development.

Among the alumni was Chand Chawat, a 1995-batch student, international badminton medallist, national champion and coach. Recalling his school years, Chawat said the institution provided strong foundations in academics as well as sports. He credited the school, teachers, family and well-wishers for supporting his journey. He has represented India at the Masters level, winning silver in doubles and bronze medals in doubles and mixed doubles at the Asian Championships. He also participated in the All England and World Masters Championships.

CA Rahul Badala, a 2000-batch alumnus, spoke emotionally about returning to his alma mater after 25 years. He recalled how St. Paul’s not only strengthened his academic foundation but also taught humility, kindness and the importance of becoming a good human being. He said his professional journey and efforts to develop Udaipur as a centre for commerce education were deeply influenced by the values instilled at the school.

Another distinguished alumnus, Mohit Joshi, a 1996-batch student, spoke about his achievements as an ultra-runner, ultra-cyclist and mountaineering enthusiast. He recalled the school’s extensive sports facilities and the encouragement he received from teachers and seniors. He stressed that achievements become meaningful when they are shared with and used to inspire the next generation.

The school’s management also underlined its commitment to providing students with opportunities for intellectual, physical and moral growth. The Manager emphasized that education must go beyond academic achievement, nurturing confidence, discipline, values and a sense of responsibility among students. The management’s vision remains focused on strengthening infrastructure, encouraging talent and preparing students to face a rapidly changing world while remaining grounded in strong human values.

Science HOD Laxman Singh Chouhan spoke about the changing nature of education and the growing role of technology and artificial intelligence. He emphasized that AI should work with teachers, not against them, while students must develop conceptual understanding, reasoning and practical skills.

PGT English teacher Flora Jacob highlighted the changing mindset of students and the need for stronger cooperation among parents, teachers and students.

Head Girl Krishna Chatur and Head Boy Harshit Sharma also spoke about student leadership, interaction between juniors and seniors, and the importance of equality and responsibility.

Principal Fr. A. John Bosco emphasized holistic, value-based education, modern learning tools, AI, computational thinking and updated curriculum. The school is also moving towards its Platinum Jubilee in 2027, marking another milestone in its long educational journey.
