Udaipur: Devotees celebrated the birth of Lord Mahavira with devotion and enthusiasm during a religious programme organised on Saturday as part of the Paryushan Mahaparva under the guidance of Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabhashri.

The programme began in the morning with a sacred reading of the Kalpasutra by Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabhashri. Following the reading, bids were conducted for the ceremonial opportunity associated with the auspicious dreams of Queen Trishala.

The birth narrative of Lord Mahavira was then recited, filling the gathering with devotion and spiritual fervour. The venue remained immersed in a religious atmosphere throughout the programme, with devotees expressing their joy through devotional singing and dancing.

Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabhashri explained the significance of the 14 auspicious dreams seen by Queen Trishala before the birth of Lord Mahavira. She said Queen Trishala first narrated the dreams to King Siddhartha, who invited learned scholars to interpret them. The scholars predicted that the child would grow into a great spiritual personality, become a seer of Dharma and attain the status of a Tirthankara.

At the conclusion of the programme, Swami Vatsalya was organised, where members of the community shared prasad. Coconut sweets and laddoos were also distributed among devotees as part of the religious offering.

Members of the organising committee contributed to the arrangements and carried out their respective responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

President Raj Lodha expressed gratitude to all members and community participants for their active participation and cooperation.

A large number of devotees attended the programme and took a pledge to imbibe the teachings and ideals of Lord Mahavira in their lives. The celebrations concluded amid devotional singing, dancing and an atmosphere of joy and spiritual enthusiasm.
