Gandhinagar-Dehgam, Gujarat: The Hindi Department of M.B. College of Commerce and G.M.N. Lalji Arts College, Gandhinagar-Dehgam, Gujarat, celebrated the birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas with enthusiasm and reverence.

The programme was attended by Principal Dr. Hitesh, Head of the Hindi Department Dr. Ravi, Dr. Prerna, faculty members from various departments, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Hitesh highlighted the continuing relevance of Tulsidas and his literary works. He said that Tulsidas’ writings continue to hold significance in contemporary society and promote Indian cultural and human values.

Head of the Hindi Department, Dr. Ravi, said that the department regularly organises such programmes to help students understand and connect with India’s rich literary and cultural heritage. He highlighted the importance of Tulsidas’ works, particularly Ramcharitmanas and Vinay Patrika, in promoting public welfare and the ideals of lokmangal.

Programme coordinator Dr. Prerna spoke about the teachings of Tulsidas and said that through his writings, he emphasised truth, compassion and devotion. She added that Tulsidas consistently advocated the welfare and betterment of society.

Students also participated enthusiastically in the programme. Kavya, Damini, Lakshmi and Roshni gave presentations on Tulsidas and his contribution to Hindi literature. Student Dhaval showcased his artistic talent by creating a beautiful portrait of Goswami Tulsidas.

The speakers noted that Tulsidas’ literary legacy, particularly Ramcharitmanas, has significance not only in India but also in various parts of the world. The programme provided students with an opportunity to learn about the life, works and enduring relevance of one of the most influential figures in Hindi literature.
