Udaipur: The Pharmacy Week celebrations organised by the Department of Pharmacy at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) concluded on Friday with enthusiasm and fervour on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day.

Students pursuing B.Pharm and D.Pharm participated enthusiastically in various competitions and sports activities organised as part of the week-long celebrations. The events provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, creativity and team spirit.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Manju Mandot said pharmacists have emerged as an important link in the healthcare industry. She emphasised the need for greater focus on innovation and research in pharmacy, particularly in the discovery of new medicines amid the rapidly changing healthcare landscape.

She said pharmacists must strengthen their role by keeping the healthcare needs of society at the centre of their professional responsibilities.

Dr Udaybhan Singh Rathore, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, said the relevance of pharmacists has increased significantly in the present healthcare scenario. He stressed that pharmacy students and professionals need to continuously update themselves with modern technology, latest developments and evolving medical practices.

Students who performed exceptionally well in various competitions and sports events organised during Pharmacy Week were presented with awards and certificates. The award recipients expressed enthusiasm on being recognised for their performances.

The programme was attended by Umrao Singh Ranawat, Dr Gaurang Trivedi, Dr Gajendra Singh Rathore, Dr Kirti Rathore, Dr Vaishali, Dr Parikshit, Sunali, Neelam, Laxman Singh and Naresh, along with faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy and a large number of students.
