Mumbai : The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster ‘Bohurupi’ promises a bigger canvas, a high-voltage face-off and a deeply rooted cultural narrative. The recently dropped teaser has broken the internet crossing more than 1 million views within an hour, setting new benchmarks in Tollywood. Windows Production has unveiled the Official Teaser of Bohurupi – The Golden Daku, the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster Bohurupi (2024). Bringing back the world of Bikram Pramanik with greater scale, intensity and action, the teaser sets the stage for what promises to be one of the biggest Bengali releases of Durga Puja 2026. The teaser offers glimpses of a gripping battle between two powerful forces, with Bikram Pramanik, played by Shiboprosad Mukherjee, returning with a vengeance. At the heart of the film is an intriguing face-off between Bikram and Jisshu Sengupta’s character, promising a conflict that is bigger, more intense and deeply personal. Speaking about the film and his face-off with Jisshu Sengupta, Shiboprosad Mukherjee said, "We are grateful for the overwhelming response to the teaser!
Crossing one million views is incredibly exciting, but the audiences are in for an adrenaline rush with the world we have created in Bohurupi: The Golden Daku. Jisshu and I share an antagonising rivalry as two men on opposite sides of the law. He is the relentless, badass cop, while I play a notorious robber who operates by his own rules. Their conflict is intense, unpredictable and deeply personal. Bringing these two characters together has been an absolutely electrifying experience. We believe that the audiences are going to have a great time watching this edge-of-the-seat thriller unfold on the big screen this Puja.” Just like the first film, the Bohurupi folk artists once again remain an integral part of the narrative. Their presence adds authenticity to the world of the film while continuing the cultural thread established in Bohurupi. A special highlight this time is the participation of Gambhira folk artists from Malda. Their traditional songs, masks and performances bring a distinctive cultural richness to the sequel, further strengthening the film’s connection with Bengal’s folk traditions. The teaser also hints at a world that is larger in scale but remains firmly rooted in the soil and cultural landscape of Bengal. From intense confrontations to glimpses of the characters’ lives and the vibrant folk traditions woven into the narrative, Bohurupi – The Golden Daku appears to be expanding the universe of its predecessor while retaining the soul that made the original film connect with audiences. With Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Koushani Mukherjee and Sohini Sarkar leading the cast, Bohurupi – The Golden Daku is directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and produced by Windows Production. The film is slated for a Durga Puja 2026 release, with the teaser revealing 15 October 2026 as the release date. With Bikram Pramanik back in action, a formidable new face-off, 96 locations, nearly 2,500 artists and the rich cultural traditions of Bengal at its heart, Bohurupi – The Golden Daku is gearing up to make this Puja bigger, louder and more explosive.
