UDAIPUR: The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Minority Department held a divisional meeting at Raza Garden, Alipura, Udaipur, to discuss preparations for the upcoming local body and Panchayati Raj elections, strengthening the party organisation and the selection of potential candidates.
Udaipur District Congress Minority Department president Mohammad Rais Khan welcomed the office-bearers and workers from across the Udaipur division. He said the meeting was aimed at reviewing organisational shortcomings and preparing the party for the upcoming elections. He stressed the need to win the confidence of workers and voters while strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level.
Chief guest and District Congress Committee president Fateh Singh Rathore said all sections of the organisation were equal and called for collective efforts to strengthen and win the upcoming local body elections. He emphasised strengthening the party organisation down to the booth level.
Divisional in-charge Najma Rain (Mewafaros), who chaired the meeting, said the responsibilities assigned by Rajasthan Congress Minority Department president M.D. Choupdar should be implemented effectively at the district and ward levels. She called for an electoral strategy based on democratic values and organisational discipline.
Rain said the Congress appeared to be strengthening across Rajasthan, particularly in the Udaipur division, and urged party workers to maintain the momentum. She called for taking all communities along and said that once a candidate is given the party ticket, workers should work together with full strength to ensure victory.
Several divisional office-bearers and party workers also shared their views on preparations for the local body elections. Those present included state vice-president Dharampal Jain, divisional state secretary Firoz Khan Abbasi, district in-charges Shamsher Khan and Shabnam Dyer, Abdul Hamid Qureshi, co-in-charge Syed Akram Ali, Mazhar Hussain Pathan, Sharafat Hussain Choupdar, divisional district presidents Mohammad Rais Khan, Farooq Qureshi, Hamid Rangrez, Imtiyaz Hussain Lohar, Mustafa Raza, Mohammad Iqbal Shah, Abdul Sattar Shah and Majid Beg.
State Congress executive members Ranu Ajmal Khan and Muddassir Khan Pathan, along with senior office-bearers and workers Batul Habib, Farida Lukman, Abdul Aziz Khan, advocate Mubeen Mohammad Sindhi, Subhan Ali Khan, Faraz Khan, Naushad Diwan, Nadir Hussain, Bashir Khan, Syed Tauseef, Saif Ali Khan, Naushad Sheikh and Syed Amjad Ali were also present.
