Sri Ganganagar: A “Drug-Free Protective Shield Campaign” was organised in Matilirathan as part of the ongoing Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign, being conducted under the leadership of District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and District Superintendent of Police Harishankar.
Vikram Jyani of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment said drug abuse affects not only an individual’s health but also family happiness, financial stability and social dignity. He urged people to respect the spirit of Raksha Bandhan by pledging to stay away from drugs and encouraging others to do the same.
During the programme, sisters tied rakhis on their brothers’ wrists and sought a lifelong commitment to remain free from substance abuse. They said Rakhi symbolises love, trust and responsibility and called for collective efforts to build a healthy and safe society.
The school principal and Matilirathan Police Station Officer Mukesh Kumar highlighted the importance of drug-free youth in building strong families and a prosperous society. Participants also took a collective pledge for a drug-free community.
