Udaipur: Central Public School (CPS) celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with enthusiasm and reverence on Friday, October 2, 2026.
A special prayer assembly was organised on the occasion. The programme began with floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Principal Poonam Rathore, in her address, highlighted the lives, ideals and contributions of the two national leaders. Students were encouraged to follow Gandhi’s messages of truth, non-violence and cleanliness and imbibe Shastri’s inspiring slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” in their lives.
Students presented patriotic songs, speeches and poems, along with Gandhi’s favourite devotional hymn “Vaishnav Jan To.” The school also organised a cleanliness drive and conducted essay-writing and drawing competitions to encourage students to reflect on the values and ideals associated with the two leaders.
The programme concluded with students and staff taking a pledge to follow the path of truth and honesty and uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.
CPS and Rockwoods Chairperson Dr. Alka Sharma, Director Administration Anil Sharma, Director Dr. Deepak Sharma, Joint Director Vikramjeet Singh Shekhawat, Administrator Sunil Babel, Principal Poonam Rathore and Headmistress Krishna Shaktawat were present on the occasion.
