New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will attend as the chief guest, and Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Jhabar Singh Kharra as the guest of honor, at the award ceremony scheduled for September 10. This event marks the conclusion of the five-day "Goenka Sangam" and "Bhado Amavasya" festival in Fatehpur Shekhawati.Sushil Kumar Goenka, Managing Trustee of the Shri Shakti Goenka Trust (Kolkata), stated that distinguished and talented individuals from the community would be honored at the ceremony.Approximately six hundred members of the Goenka community—settled in various parts of India and abroad—have gathered in Fatehpur (Shekhawati), Rajasthan, to pay homage to their clan deity, *Dadi Maa*. Prominent expatriate industrialists from the Goenka community are among the attendees. A notable highlight of this historic Goenka Sangam is the participation of the younger generation—youth born and raised in major Indian cities and foreign countries—making the event a magnificent celebration blending spirituality, tradition, and ancient heritage."Bhado Amavasya" holds great significance for the Goenka community and is celebrated annually over five days in the Fatehpur Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. During this time, expatriate Rajasthanis belonging to the Goenka community—whose ancestors left the Shekhawati region centuries ago for trade and business—return to Fatehpur Shekhawati to reconnect with their roots. They visit their clan deity to offer prayers for the community's happiness, peace, and prosperity, while also introducing their children to their ancient civilization, culture, and heritage.
