Udaipur: The Inner Wheel Club of Udaipur Divas organised a service initiative to support patients undergoing treatment at the Sickle Cell Department of Maharana Bhupal Hospital. As part of the initiative, the club provided essential medicines and spirometers to help meet the healthcare needs of patients suffering from sickle cell disease. Fruits and biscuits were also distributed among the patients.

Club President Nayana Jain said patients with sickle cell disease often experience severe pain and various physical complications during the course of the illness. Keeping their treatment and healthcare requirements in mind, the club arranged the necessary medicines and medical equipment.

Lalit Kishore Pargi, Nursing In-charge of the Sickle Cell Department, said he had himself suffered from the disease and therefore understood the pain and challenges faced by patients. Darshi Vyas had informed the club about the patients’ need for medicines, following which the club took the initiative to arrange the required supplies.

Club Vice-President Asha Shrimali, Preeti Shrimali, Hamida Bano and other members participated in the service initiative. Hospital nursing staff Bhavana Jain, physiotherapists Rekha Damor and Rekha Yadav, Urmila and other staff members also extended their support.

Club members interacted with patients and their family members and encouraged them to remain regular with their treatment and stay attentive to their health. They also assured the patients that the club would continue to provide medicines and medical equipment as required in the future.
