Udaipur: Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm at Central Public Senior Secondary School, New Bhupalpura, on Thursday.

The celebrations began with the ceremonial worship of Radha and Krishna. Chief guests Madhu Sarin and Sudha Sukhadia, along with school chairperson Dr. Alka Sharma, performed the puja. The atmosphere turned devotional as students presented a soulful aarti.

A major attraction of the programme was a captivating dance performance based on “Kanha and Yashoda,” portraying the affection and emotional bond between Lord Krishna and his foster mother through expressive choreography. A colourful tableau depicting Krishna in his childhood form also attracted the attention of students and guests.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guests appreciated the efforts of the school management, teachers and students. They said cultural and spiritual programmes play an important role in connecting children with Indian culture, traditions and moral values.

The school campus echoed with chants of “Jai Shri Krishna” as students and staff celebrated the festival with joy and devotion. Panjiri prasad was distributed at the conclusion of the programme.

CPS and Rockwoods Chairperson Dr. Alka Sharma, Director Administration Anil Sharma, Director Dr. Deepak Sharma, Joint Director Vikramjeet Singh Shekhawat, Administrator Sunil Babel, Principal Poonam Rathore and Headmistress Krishna Shaktawat extended Janmashtami greetings to the entire school community.
