Udaipur: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Udaipur Region-I office of the State Bank of India (SBI) undertook a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the Government Higher Secondary School Pragyachakshu (Blind School), Ambamata.
Keeping in view the educational and learning needs of visually impaired students, SBI provided the school with various educational materials and essential resources. The bank donated 110 Braille plates, 110 Taylor frame sets, Hindi and English alphabet sets, three cupboards, and 15 speakers and microphones along with one public address system for classroom use.
The programme was attended by M.G. Vyas, Regional Manager, SBI, as the chief guest, along with SBI Manager Dharmveer Bhatia as the guest of honour. Atul Bhardwaj, Yogesh Agrawal and other SBI officers and employees were also present. The school was represented by Principal Shrichand Jeevanani and members of the teaching and support staff.
The SBI team interacted with the students and provided information about basic banking services and schemes such as NPS Vatsalya. The students were also sensitised to the importance of financial awareness alongside education and encouraged to work towards a bright future.
The initiative aimed to promote inclusive education, support the academic needs of visually impaired students and strengthen SBI’s commitment to social responsibility.
The school administration and officials appreciated SBI’s CSR initiative and described it as a useful and commendable step towards supporting the students.
