Udaipur: The Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Department of Space, Government of India, in collaboration with Vidya Bhawan Society, organised a space science awareness programme at Vidya Bhawan Auditorium to mark National Space Day 2026.
The event followed this year’s theme, “Aspiration for Innovation, Collaboration and Global Space Leadership towards a Developed India.” Its aim was to encourage students to learn about space science, technology and India’s growing achievements in space exploration.
Senior scientists from ISRO’s Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, Regional Remote Sensing Centre-West, Jodhpur, and USO delivered presentations on various aspects of space science and India’s space programme.
A major attraction was a space science and technology exhibition showcasing India’s achievements and applications of space technology.
Around 400 students and teachers participated enthusiastically. The programme also highlighted USO’s five-decade contribution to solar research and its major facilities, including MAST, CALLISTO and GONG.
The event inspired students to explore careers and opportunities in space science and research.
