Symposium Organized on World Mother Language Day - Celebration and Reflections

 Udaipur, February 21 On the occasion of World Mother Language Day, a symposium was organized at the Secretariat of the Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, under the chairmanship of Janardanray Nagar, the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The symposium aimed to commemorate the establishment of the university ten years ago for the promotion and propagation of Hindi, initiated by the founder Pt. Janardanray Nagar.

In his inaugural address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot highlighted the significance of mother languages and the continuous progress of the institution towards its founding goals. He acknowledged the recent emphasis on mother languages in the new education policy. He also traced the roots of the university to its founder Pt. Janardanray Nagar, who, ten years before independence, established Hindi Vidyapeeth with the vision of promoting Hindi and its dissemination.

Prof. Sarangdevot stressed the importance of respecting all languages, considering mother languages as the cradle of culture. He emphasized that a person inherits their initial values and habits from their mother language. Despite the disappearance of many languages, he pointed out the need to preserve and promote languages for maintaining cultural diversity.

Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimalli, Private Secretary K.K. Kumawat, and other dignitaries such as Dr. Paras Jain, Prof. Saroj Garg, Prof. Malay Paneri, Prof. Jeevansingh Kharkwal, and others were present during the symposium. The gathering discussed the role of languages in shaping cultural identities and the importance of nurturing and expanding linguistic capabilities.

The event concluded with the consensus that language preservation and enhancement are essential for cultural richness, and every effort should be made to promote and use mother languages effectively.
