NIMS University Hosts Indian Economic Association Delegation

In a significant event held at NIMS University, Jaipur, former Vice-Chancellor Prof. America Singh chaired a delegation from the Indian Economic Association. The visit was part of preparations for the 107th International Conference scheduled for December, focusing on "Developed India: Challenges and Opportunities." Over 1000 participants from across the globe are expected to attend.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Amarika Singh emphasized the crucial role of Indian youth and higher educational institutions in realizing India's vision of development. The delegation also engaged in discussions with stakeholders in higher education.

The Indian Economic Association, renowned for its advocacy in economic matters, has organized the conference to delve into various aspects of India's development trajectory. Established in 1917 by Professor C.J. Hamilton, the association represents scholars and policymakers from various sectors.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Nobel laureate Prof. Amartya Sen have previously served as presidents of the Indian Economic Association, underscoring its influence in shaping economic discourse in India.

The conference aims to outline a comprehensive roadmap for India's economic growth, focusing on sustainable development goals, technological innovation, and social welfare. It highlights the need for inclusive development involving all sections of society.

Prominent figures such as Prof. Amarika Singh, former Chancellor Prof. Adya Prasad Pandey, and Prof. Vikram Chadha were present at the event, emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment and sustainable economic policies.

The delegation exchanged ideas on fostering economic growth and social progress, emphasizing the pivotal role of technology in India's journey towards becoming a global leader in innovation.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Chauhan, a member of the Indian Economic Association, stressed the importance of integrating economic development with social welfare initiatives to achieve the goals outlined for Developed India 2047.

Prof. D.K. Asthana highlighted the association's commitment to promoting economic development, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, positioning India as a key player on the global stage.

The event concluded with the presentation of a book titled "I Am Just a Medium" by Governor Kalraj Mishra to the delegation, symbolizing inspiration for the youth.
