New Delhi,Gati Shakti University (GSU), India’s premier institution dedicated to the transport and logistics sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon, one of the world’s leading e-commerce companies. The collaboration aims to advance knowledge exchange, joint academic curriculum development, and collaborative research initiatives.
One of the most significant components of this MoU is the establishment of an Amazon Chair Professorship at GSU, along with a focused research programme in the warehousing sector using data-driven decision-making frameworks.
GSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj Chaudhary stated that as India’s only university dedicated exclusively to the logistics sector, the institution is committed to shaping the future of India’s logistics ecosystem through deep research and specialized talent development. He added that the partnership with Amazon India will offer valuable industry insights, enabling co-working projects that support innovation and informed planning in logistics and transportation.
Established as a Central University by an Act of Parliament in 2022, Gati Shakti University functions under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Its academic and research domains span the entire transportation spectrum, including railways, highways, ports, aviation, maritime transport, shipping, inland waterways, urban transport, and the broader logistics and supply chain network.
The university is led by its Chancellor, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology.
