###Subodh Pedals into Udaipur with a Green Dream

Udaipur,  Carrying the message of “Change Before Climate Change,” Subodh Vijay, an environmental warrior, adventurous cyclist, and motivational speaker from Roha (Raigad), Maharashtra, arrived in Udaipur on Friday as part of his ambitious ‘India to Everest Base Camp’ cycling expedition.

In a press conference held at the Information Center, Subodh shared the vision, experiences, and roadmap of his mission, which includes cycling across 28 Indian states and planting one lakh trees en route before reaching the Everest Base Camp in Nepal.

Warm welcome in Udaipur

Members of the Anuvrat Committee welcomed Subodh upon his arrival. During an event organized by the committee, he discussed topics of environmental conservation and lauded national campaigns like ‘Fit India’ and ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Mission: Awareness & Action

Subodh emphasized that his journey aims to raise environmental awareness and inspire youth to pursue their dreams while becoming responsible citizens. The campaign, launched from Raigad on June 19, 2023, has so far traversed eight Indian states, including a route through Bharatpur, Alwar, Jaipur, Sikar, Phalodi, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Pali before reaching Udaipur. From here, he will proceed to Chittorgarh and then enter Madhya Pradesh, followed by Chhattisgarh, Telangana, southern coastal states, northeastern regions, and finally Nepal.

One Pedal, One Tree

Subodh has pledged to plant 100,000 trees during this expedition. Collaborating with local youth, schoolchildren, and volunteers at every halt, he has already planted over 30,000 saplings. He also mentors school children as ‘Green Warriors’ to sustain environmental consciousness in their communities.

A World Record Holder on Two Wheels

Subodh, trained in hotel management and hospitality, found his true passion in mountain climbing and cycling. Having summited over 600 peaks, including the Himalayas, Vindhyas, and Western Ghats, he stopped keeping count. In 2022, he set a world record by conquering 371 forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, an achievement that reflects not just physical endurance but deep commitment to the environment.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Across schools and social platforms, Subodh interacts with students, urging them to embrace green thinking. He firmly believes that India's future depends on youth adopting sustainable habits, stating, "If not now, then when?" His simple bicycle carries a powerful message: a dream of a greener India.

Environmental activists Sunil Dubey and Mrs. Preeti were also present during the interaction.
