Vande Ganga Water Conservation Campaign – Udaipur Secures First Position

3573 Events Organized Across the District

Udaipur,  Revered for centuries as a model of water conservation and management, Mewar has once again proven itself as a leader in water preservation by securing the top spot in the state-wide Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan. Initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the campaign was launched on June 5 to raise awareness about water conservation and encourage public participation across Rajasthan.

Udaipur district has emerged as the frontrunner by conducting the highest number of events — 3573 activities recorded on the campaign’s online portal with geo-tagged photographs. These events, ranging from awareness drives to community participation programs at the district, block, and village levels, have seen the engagement of over five lakh citizens so far.

District Collector Namit Mehta congratulated all officers, employees, public representatives, and residents of the district for their enthusiastic participation. He also encouraged continued commitment to ensure Udaipur retains its top position throughout the campaign duration.

100 Water Conservation Structures Inaugurated Under ‘Karmabhoomi Se Matribhoomi’ Initiative
As part of the campaign, 100 water conservation structures constructed under the Karmabhoomi Se Matribhoomi initiative were inaugurated on Thursday at Gulab Bagh premises. The event was graced by CA Mahavir Chaplot as the chief guest, who performed a traditional puja before formally inaugurating the structures.

Also present were Municipal Corporation Superintendent Engineer Mukesh Pujari, hydrogeologist and nodal officer of the initiative Monika Rathore, along with other officials and staff from the Municipal Corporation and Groundwater Department.
