Marathon Organized at Fatehsagar Pal on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

 

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), Abhilasha Special School (AVV) organized a morning marathon from the Fatehsagar Lake promenade on Wednesday. Through this marathon, participants delivered a powerful message of inclusion, dignity, and capabilities. Students, teachers, and staff of the school participated with great enthusiasm. Civil Judge Bharat Poonia flagged off the marathon and encouraged the children, praising Abhilasha Special School’s unparalleled dedication to children with disabilities. Morning walkers present at the lakeside also applauded and cheered for the participants.

Later, a formal ceremony was held on the school premises, where Udaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Khanna attended as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the cultural performances presented by the students and remarked that the commitment of Abhilasha Special School is truly exemplary. “The day is not far when every child with disabilities will step into the mainstream with confidence and pride,” he said. Commissioner Khanna also visited a special art exhibition prepared by hearing-impaired students and signed the school’s signature campaign bus, promoting the message of inclusion.

Special Activities and Signature Campaign at Vidya Bhawan School

Vidya Bhawan School also organized a special programme on Wednesday to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In the presence of students from Abhilasha Special School, the event featured a signature campaign led by Rajendra Bhatt, CEO of Vidya Bhawan Institute, who joined staff and students in signing the campaign bus to endorse the message of “Inclusion and Acceptance.”

Students and staff actively participated in various activities organized throughout the day, reinforcing the spirit of empathy, understanding, and equal opportunity.
