Encourage Girls by Showcasing Role Models: Collector Mehta

Udaipur – A district-level meeting of the Task Force for the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) campaign was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Collector Namit Mehta at the Mini Auditorium of the District Collectorate. The meeting was also attended by District Legal Services Authority Secretary & ADJ Kuldeep Sharma.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of departmental schemes, planning of upcoming events, budget expenditure, and efforts being made to improve the sex ratio. Officials presented data on ongoing activities and key achievements under the scheme.

On this occasion, Collector Mehta emphasized the need to showcase girls who have excelled in education and sports despite adverse conditions as local role models, so that they can inspire other girls and help them build self-confidence. He also directed that block-level task force meetings be conducted regularly every quarter to ensure transparency and speed in implementation of the schemes.

The progress of the Sakhi One Stop Center was also reviewed during the meeting, and instructions were given to make the helpline services more effective. The functioning and achievements of the District Women Grievance Committee were also evaluated.

The meeting was attended by IAS trainee officers, Deputy Director of the Women Empowerment Department Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director of the Child Rights Department Nandlal Meghwal, PCPNDT Coordinator Manisha Bhatnagar, representatives from various NGOs, and other departmental officials.
