St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School Celebrates Junior Annual Sports Day

Udaipur: The Junior Annual Sports Day of St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School, Balicha, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy. According to Media In-charge Vikas Sahu, students from Nursery to Class 5 participated energetically in the event, showcasing their sporting spirit and talent.

Students securing first, second, and third positions were felicitated with gold, silver, and bronze medals, which added excitement and motivation among young athletes. The glittering medals proved to be a major attraction for the children.

The chief guest of the ceremony was Sudhir Bakshi, President of the Udaipur Olympic Association and Secretary of the Udaipur Badminton Association. Vijay Sanchihar, former national handball and volleyball player and former chief referee, attended as a special guest. Guests of honour included Reeza Sheikh (Rajasthan Women’s Cricket Team, U-19/U-23), Sonal Kalal (Senior Indian cricketer), and Dr. Father Babu, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral, Udaipur. The programme was presided over by School Principal William D’Souza.

The event featured around 100 races, including running events, item races, PT displays, and dance performances. A total of 409 medals were won by students. Guests emphasized the importance of sports for both physical and mental development and personally encouraged students while awarding medals.

The programme began with flag hoisting to formally inaugurate the Sports Day. Outstanding school athletes were also honoured with certificates and prizes. The event was smoothly conducted by Alpa Sharma and Dipti Joshi.
