Operation Against Adulteration in Food: Campaign Launched in the District

Bhilwara: In response to the directives of the Additional Chief Secretary, the "Operation Against Adulteration in Food" campaign will be rigorously conducted at the district level starting from February 15.

Under this campaign, District Collector Nimit Mehta, accompanied by designated officers and Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Mustak Khan, has formed three inspection teams. The first team, led by the Chief Medical and Health Officer, inspected samples of medium fat cream and mawa from Mehsar-Sukhwal Mawa Bhandar, Brahmano Ki Sareri, and Aaseend. The second team, led by Tehsil Officer Sushil Kumar Seni, visited Mehsar Hotel Balaji Sweets and Namkeen, Nai Abadi, and Hamirgarh, collecting samples of khoya barfi and besan. The third team, led by Shahpura Tehsildar Uttam Jagird, gathered samples of Malwa Mithan Bhandar in Shahpura, including paneer and malai barfi.

Additionally, Mobile Food Testing Laboratories (MFTL) conducted checks on various food items at different locations in the district.

CMHO Dr. Mustak Khan highlighted that under the Eat Right Initiative, seven training camps have been conducted for food business operators and consumers, along with six camps for licensing and registration. Six schools have been registered under the Eat-Right School initiative, and two locations have been designated as Eat-Right Campus. Furthermore, Eat-Right Street has been registered with the inclusion of the Bhilwara station and two other locations.

The "Operation Against Adulteration in Food" campaign aims to ensure continuous and strict actions against adulteration across the entire district. Food security teams, including Food Security Officers Prem Chandra Sharma, Manish Kumar Sharma, Ghan Shyam Singh Solanki, and supporting staff, were present during the ongoing activities.

Officials emphasized that stringent actions will be taken against those found violating food safety regulations, as per the Food Security and Standard Act. Dr. Mustak Khan urged citizens to report any instances of adulteration or sale of adulterated food by calling the Control Room at 94628-19999, 01482-232643, or 181.

The campaign is expected to raise awareness among food business operators and consumers, ensuring the supply of unadulterated and safe food throughout the district.
