Udaipur, As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, and in observance of the De-addiction Week that began on Gandhi Jayanti, a special De-addiction Awareness and Meditation Program was organised at Vidya Bhawan Teacher Training College, Udaipur, by the Heartfulness Meditation Institute.
The session aimed to teach B.Ed. students the art of leading a successful and drug-free life.
Dr. Rakesh Dashora, Centre Coordinator, informed that students were educated about the harmful effects of addiction and took an oath to stay drug-free.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rekha Soni discussed in detail the causes and consequences of addiction, stating that “natural substances are beneficial for human life, whereas man-made intoxicants are harmful.” She further emphasized that “addiction begins in small doses but gradually traps students, leading to serious health and social problems.”
During the session, students practiced Heartfulness meditation techniques for prevention and self-control.
Senior Trainer Mrs. Asha Sharma explained the cooling and detoxification process, while Zonal Coordinator Mrs. Madhu Mehta guided participants on maintaining mental balance through meditation.
The event witnessed the presence of Principal Dr. Farzana Irfan, faculty members, and students of the college.
