Udaipur: Five exceptionally talented students from Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Udaipur have achieved remarkable success in JEE Main 2026 (Session 1), securing 95+ percentiles, thanks to their hard work and technical guidance from Resonance, taking a strong step toward fulfilling their dreams.
All these students are part of the ‘Unchi Udaan’ (High Flight) program, sponsored by Hindustan Zinc. Launched in 2017 in collaboration with technical partner Resonance and host partner Vidya Bhavan, the program aims to empower meritorious students studying in government schools who are often deprived of higher education due to a lack of guidance and resources.
Under this initiative, students from six districts within Hindustan Zinc’s operational areas — Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Ajmer, and Pantnagar, Uttarakhand — are selected based on minimum academic criteria and entrance exams. Selected students are then trained by experienced faculty at Resonance for admission to prestigious engineering institutions like the IITs.
The program currently has 152 residential students from classes 9 to 12 studying at Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, receiving education in English from class 9 onwards. In the 2025-26 academic session, over 1,300 rural students from all Hindustan Zinc units appeared for the entrance exam, and 40 students were selected for class 9. So far, a total of 150 students from this initiative have secured admission in India’s top engineering institutions.
This year’s outstanding performers are:
• Ashok Patel – 99.23 percentile
• Soyab Ali Mansoori – 98.84 percentile
• Aditya Soni – 96.80 percentile
• Prakhar Raj Singh Charan – 96.48 percentile
• Khushi Kunwar Devra – 95.52 percentile
