Udaipur:The three-day Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Boot Camp – 2026 (Phase-3), held under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, concluded successfully at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS), Dabok, Udaipur. The programme was jointly organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC).
The boot camp was conducted from January 7 to January 9, 2026 as part of a multi-stage initiative supported by AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation. The initiative aims to promote innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship at the school level, in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and to strengthen the startup ecosystem among school students.
The programme was inaugurated online by Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE and Chief Innovation Officer. The inaugural session was attended by Prof. Shyamarath, Member Secretary; Dr. N. H. Siddalinga Swamy, Advisor – Regulation Bureau; Mr. Yogesh Brahmankar, Innovation Director; and Assistant Innovation Director from the Innovation Cell.
Director of the institute, Dr. S. M. Prasanna Kumar, stated that the boot camp focused on building innovation capacity among school leaders and teachers. Principals and teachers from PM SHRI schools were trained on technical and practical aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship by Wadhwani Foundation’s lead trainers, Mr. Makarand Ramesh Velenkar and Mr. H. T. Patil. The programme coordination was led by Mr. Ashish Tripathi, Regional Coordinator, Innovation Cell, AICTE.
According to Dr. Chintal Patel, Convener of the programme, nearly 190 principals and teachers from various PM SHRI schools across Rajasthan participated in the boot camp.
The valedictory session featured insightful addresses by Dr. Deepan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation Cell, AICTE Jaipur; Dr. B. L. Chaudhary, former Chairman, Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer; Dr. Shweta Fageria from the Rajasthan Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT); and Ms. Radhika Balsaria, Founder of SimpleKaro. The speakers shared their creative perspectives and encouraged participants to integrate innovation and entrepreneurial thinking into school education.
Dr. P. K. Jain, Director – MBA, highlighted that the boot camp provided a valuable platform for discussions on innovation, enabling teachers from different schools to learn from one another. Mr. B. L. Jangid, Finance Controller, GITS, added that such initiatives significantly enhance creativity among teachers and students, inspiring them to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.
The successful completion of the IDE Boot Camp reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Education and AICTE towards nurturing innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level of the education system.
