Shooting on Government Land in Maharashtra to be Free for Films!

Under the initiative led by Abhay Sinha, the President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association, the Maharashtra government has announced that shooting on government land in the state will now be free of charge. A clear mention has been made in a government order that shooting for films, documentaries, and advertisements will be allowed free of cost on government land. According to the state government's announcement, free shooting on government land has been declared in Maharashtra, except for Dadar Film City in Mumbai and Film City in Kolhapur. Abhay Sinha, the President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association, expressed gratitude for the order issued by the Maharashtra government in favor of film producers, stating that while streamlining the administrative process for filmmakers, a "Single Window" scheme has been initiated at the Maharashtra Film Theater and Cultural Development Corporation in Goregaon, Mumbai. As per the revised decision, shooting will be free of cost; however, a nominal security deposit of ₹40,000 for advertisements, ₹1 lakh for TV serials, and ₹2.5 lakh for films is required. The state government's streamlined approval process and provision of free filming facilities will establish Maharashtra as an extremely beneficial and attractive destination for film producers.
