Jaisalmer - Maru Mahotsav 2024: Various Competitions Organized

Jaisalmer, Under the Maru Mahotsav 2024, various competitions were organized at the Poonam Singh Stadium in Jaisalmer. The event witnessed the inauguration by District Collector Pratap Singh and Police Superintendent Sudhir Choudhary, along with the participation of retired IAS officer Shyam Sundar Bissa. The festival showcased events reflecting the cultural and traditional life of Marwar, along with diverse competitions that became a center of attraction for the attendees.

During the program, artists from Gujarat presented Siddhi Dhamal and Rathva dance, captivating the audience with their performances. The winners of different competitions were announced, with Moomal-Mahendra competition won by Air Force School, followed by Udan Public School and MGJS IGNP securing the second and third positions, respectively. In the Food Festival, Sunita Leelavat secured the first position, followed by Anita Gewa in the second position and Mamta Hingara in the third position.

The titles of Miss Jaisalmer, Mr. Desert, and Miss Moomal were awarded to Marudhara Kanwar, Dr. Shrikant Vyas, and Parul Vijay, respectively. The Beard Competition saw Ravindra Joshi securing the first position, followed by Genaram and Amritlal, while Chetan Prakash and Pankaj Kumar Dave secured the third position.

The program was facilitated by emcees Nemichand and Kishor Rajpurohit from Jodhpur. Notably, the festival also featured awareness campaigns for voters, including an awareness parade with an awareness ostrich chariot roaming throughout the city.

The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from foreign guests who enjoyed various competitions and made lasting memories by capturing moments in their cameras. The local tourists also relished the festival, taking immense joy in the cultural extravaganza.
