Kota, India – In a significant recognition of India’s growing presence in global librarianship, Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava, Head & Divisional Librarian at the Government Divisional Public Library, Kota, has been elected as a Standing Committee Member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) for the Two Professional Section on “Government Libraries” and “Libraries Serving Persons with Print Disabilities” for the term 2025–2029.
IFLA, headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, is the leading global organization representing the interests of library and information services and their users. As the international voice of the library and information profession, IFLA sets strategic directions for libraries worldwide.
Dr. Shrivastava’s appointment marks a milestone achievement for India’s public library movement. His term will officially commence following the IFLA General Assembly on May 5, 2025. He joins an elite global forum of library leaders working to ensure access, equity, and innovation in library services for persons with print disabilities.
