Kota, December — Panic spread across the Kota Collectorate campus on Monday morning after an official email threatened to blow up the Collector’s Office with a bomb. Acting swiftly, the police and district administration cordoned off the entire premises and launched a full-scale search operation.
Loud sirens echoed as fire brigade vehicles, civil defence teams, and a bomb disposal unit rushed to the spot. One of the first officers to arrive was DSP Lokendra Paliwal, who immediately conducted a thorough inspection of the Collectorate building with his police team.
All offices within the Collectorate campus were evacuated as a precaution, and entry was restricted. Shortly after, Additional SP Dilip Kumar Saini and several senior administrative officials arrived to oversee the situation.
The threat email was reportedly received around 10:15 AM, prompting the immediate emergency response. The entire campus underwent a meticulous security scan, which lasted for nearly 2 hours and 15 minutes. After completing the search around 2:15 PM, officials allowed staff to re-enter the premises.
A total of seven fire safety vehicles, a JCB machine, and a bomb disposal vehicle remained stationed at the spot throughout the operation. Despite the massive search, no suspicious object was found.
Officials confirmed that the threat email also mentioned blowing up a coaching institute, adding to the seriousness of the incident. Police are now investigating the source of the threat.
