Swami Vivekananda: Symbol of Spiritual and Cultural Pride – Devanani

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devanani unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda in Vivekananda Park, located opposite Azad Maidan in Jhadol, Udaipur district, on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti. The ceremony was held in the presence of Cabinet Minister for Tribal Regional Development, Babulal Kharadi, public representatives, and a large number of citizens.

Addressing the gathering, Devanani described Swami Vivekananda as a son of Mother India, a visionary, and a timeless inspiration for youth. He stated that Vivekananda was not just a national figure, but a symbol of spiritual and cultural pride for the entire world. His life and teachings remain as relevant today as they were during his lifetime.

The event also included the inauguration of an open gym within Vivekananda Park by cutting the ribbon. During his speech, Devanani recalled Swami Vivekananda's historic speech at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, highlighting how his words elevated India’s global stature and presented the nation as a beacon of spirituality, knowledge, science, and moral values. His opening line, "Sisters and brothers of America," still resonates deeply within every Indian heart, Devanani noted.

Cabinet Minister Babulal Kharadi, serving as the guest of honour, remarked that Vivekananda inspired the youth to be self-reliant, confident, and action-oriented. Quoting him, he said, “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached,” and urged everyone to embody these powerful words in their lives.

The event was chaired by social worker Gunwant Singh Jhala, and Udaipur Zila Pramukh Mamta Kunwar Panwar also graced the occasion as a special guest. Other notable attendees included Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Jhadol Pradhan Radha Devi Parmar, Bhanwar Singh Panwar, Shankar Lal Gadari, Panchayat Samiti member Savita Devi, Panchayat Administrator Asha Devi Vadera, and Deputy Sarpanch Neelam Rajpurohit, along with numerous youth and members of the public.
