Green People Society to Join 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' Pledge

Meeting of Green People Society Concludes

Udaipur,  A meeting of the Green People Society, committed to bird and environmental conservation in Southern Rajasthan, was held on Friday at Aranya Kutir under the chairmanship of retired CCF and NTCA member Rahul Bhatnagar. The session featured key discussions on various important topics.

In the presence of retired IAS officer and Vice President of the Society, Vikram Singh, it was resolved that the Society will actively participate in the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ plantation campaign. Special focus will be given to engaging school students by providing them with technical knowledge of plantation practices and encouraging their involvement in green development initiatives.

Formation of Six Committees,

To effectively conduct diverse activities, six dedicated committees were constituted during the meeting. These include:

CSR Funding Committee

Plantation Committee

Hariyalo Rajasthan Program Committee

Organization Committee

Aravalli Green Wall Committee

Integrated Comprehensive Community Outreach Program Committee

Each committee will consist of three to four members to ensure that specific tasks are carried out efficiently by individuals with subject-matter expertise.

Ecologist from Netherlands to Collaborate on Eco-Restoration

Chairman Rahul Bhatnagar informed that Peter van Munnen, an eco-restoration ecologist from the Netherlands, has expressed interest in working with the committee. He aims to understand and receive hands-on training in the eco-restoration projects conducted by the Society. It was decided that comprehensive training will be provided to him covering all aspects of environmental, water, and soil conservation undertaken by the Green People Society.

The meeting was attended by Rahul Bhatnagar, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Sharad Shrivastava, Suhail Majboor, IG Mathur, Yaseen Pathan, Ismail Ali Durga, S.N. Dave, Secretary of the Society Dr. Satish Sharma, P.S. Chundawat, and other distinguished members.
