Grand Confluence of Rhythm and Melody in the City of Lakes

Udaipur: The City of Lakes, Udaipur, is once again set to witness a grand celebration of world-class classical arts. Under the banner of the All India Dancers Association (AIDA), Kathak Ashram Udaipur and Badala Classes will organize the 6th International Classical Dance and Music Festival on March 26 and 27 at Atal Sabhagar, located in Hiran Magri.

The official poster of the festival was recently unveiled in a ceremonial event attended by Rahul Badala of Badala Classes, Chandrakala Choudhary, Director of Kathak Ashram, and Kaniska Shrimali from Glory Event, the event partner. Preparations for the sixth edition are in full swing, promising a unique confluence of art and culture.

Rahul Badala and Chandrakala Choudhary jointly informed that around 500 to 600 participants from across India and abroad are expected to arrive in Udaipur for the two-day festival. The format of the event has been designed to be distinctive and engaging. During the daytime sessions, competitions in various classical dance forms will be held, while the evening sessions, titled the “Dance Festival,” will feature mesmerizing performances by internationally acclaimed artists.

Artists from major Indian cities including Kerala, Raipur, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jaipur will participate, along with performers from Dubai, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Ritesh Babu, Director of AIDA, shared that several special performances will be key attractions this year. A renowned group from Delhi will present “Upkathak,” depicting the divine leelas of Lord Krishna through Kathak. A Bharatanatyam group from Raipur will deliver a powerful rendition of Shiv Tandav. Additionally, Kerala’s traditional Kathakali art form, known for its elaborate costumes and expressive storytelling, will captivate audiences.

Following the tremendous success of its fifth edition, the organizers are working diligently to make this sixth edition even more magnificent, aiming to provide a global platform for the rich heritage of classical dance and music.
