Demand for Special Pink Toilets for Women in Udaipur; BCI Tourism Sends Proposal to Government and Industry Leaders

Udaipur — In a significant step towards making Udaipur a women-friendly and world-class tourist destination, the Tourism Wing of Business Circle International (BCI Tourism) has proposed the installation of “Pink Toilets” at major tourist locations across the city.

The proposal was approved in a recent meeting and has been sent to top national and state leadership, relevant government departments, and corporate institutions to expedite its implementation.

Proposal sent to top authorities and corporates

BCI Founder and Chairman Mukesh Madhwani stated that the proposal has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Udaipur MP Manna Lal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) Secretary, Regional Tourism Deputy Director, Tourism Department Commissioner, and Vedanta Group CSR division including Chairman Anil Agarwal.

The proposal has been jointly signed by Mukesh Madhwani (Founder & Chairman, BCI), Dr. Shraddha Gattani (President, BCI Tourism), Gaurav Bhandari (General Secretary), Surabhi Menaria Dhing (Secretary), and Swati Swaropariya (Treasurer).

Need for women-friendly infrastructure

Dr. Shraddha Gattani, President of BCI Tourism, said that with the increasing number of women tourists, there is a growing need for dedicated “Pink Toilets” to ensure safety, hygiene, and dignity. She highlighted that in many tourist places, the lack of clean and secure toilets causes inconvenience and insecurity for women.

Modern facilities in Pink Toilet model

Secretary Surabhi Menaria Dhing explained that the proposed Pink Toilet model includes several modern facilities such as:

  • Separate and secure spaces for women

  • Sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators

  • Baby care and feeding rooms for mothers

  • Deployment of female staff for operations and maintenance

  • Easy identification through digital maps and pink signage

She added that this initiative would not only improve facilities but also enhance the city’s image as a modern and sensitive tourism destination.

Udaipur as a national benchmark

Treasurer Swati Swaropariya said that this initiative would help establish Udaipur as a leading women-friendly tourism city, boosting confidence among domestic and international women tourists and further promoting tourism growth.

She added that if successfully implemented, the model could be replicated across other major tourist destinations in India, making it a national benchmark. Udaipur could become the first city in Rajasthan to implement dedicated Pink Toilets for women.

Proposal sent via courier

The proposal documents were dispatched through Early Bird Courier Service with the assistance of Kailash Namdevani’s team. Team member Dilip Kumar facilitated collection and further dispatch of the documents from the Ashoka Palace office.
